Or at least modeling humans (on the computer, that is). Modeling robots and things is fun stuff, especially if you don't have any clear plan, and can make it up as you go along. With humans you have to figure out exactly where on that infamous chart of human likeness vs. familiarity to pin your art, and it's quite a fight to keep it there.
For instance, I have fairly good partial human model that I'm never going to use because it's off just enough that it's starting to slide into the uncanny valley, and the mesh is too complex to fix it easily. Doesn't help that the thing has like a million vertices (I'm going to put it into a video game, and more vertices = slower framerate for the game).

I think I really need to flesh out what the human is going to look like in two dimensions before I attempt the jump to three...I haven't drawn a human face in quite awhile (usually I just draw the guides and some basic skin for practice) and I think my uncertainty of how it should look (or more specifically, where it should be on that chart we talked about earlier) is crippling my modeling abilities.
